Chinese artist / architect Ai Weiwei released on bail

Designer of Birdsnest Stadium a proponent of truth and freedom

Ai Weiwei first got in trouble with the Government of China when he criticized the design, architecture and construction of many schools that collapsed during China's major earthquake. The Gov wanted to bury the bad news along with all the kids, but Ai wanted to prevent such a thing from happening again.

This past April, Weiwei was arrested by Chinese authorities during a crackdown related to the Arab Spring uprisings. After almost 3 months incarceration, he was released on bail today!

"I'm back with my family," Ai told the UK's Guardian newspaper. "I am very happy. I'm fine."
